GURKHA MEMORIAL FUND – CHARITY DINNER EVENING – Friday 31st May 2024 6.30pm for 7pm
At the Warrant Officers & Sergeants Mess Sir John Moore Barracks, Sandgate, CT20 3HJ
In support of Computer, Technology, Education Project for Rural Schools in NEPAL.
Please join us for a very special evening at the Warrant Officers and Sergeants Mess Sir John Moore Barracks on Friday 31st May consisting of a reception drink, a delicious three course Nepalese dinner kindly prepared by the Aramark WOSM catering team, wine on the table, and entertainment afterwards.
We are very grateful to 2 RGR (Aramak, BHQ. B Coy) for making this Charity raising event possible. The Gurkha Memorial Fund target is to raise £14,000 to support our third Computer Technology Project to schools in impoverished areas of Nepal and to support links with UK schools. We are nearly half way towards reaching this and so hope you will help us. We will also have a great raffle and auction during the evening.
Numbers are limited to 70 so we would recommend that you apply for your tickets as early as possible to avoid disappointment. We must have your response by 26th May latest because we are having to impose a very strict time as Security at the Barracks will only allow through those on the list of participants, which we must provide five days before the event takes place.
The cost is £45.00 pp and includes the reception drink, three course meal, wine on tables, and traditional cultural live entertainment. The meal will include a starter of Onion Bhaji, Spring Rolls, a main course of Pork/Chicken/Vegetarian Curry, medley of fresh vegetable, daal, steamed basmati rice, poppadum, salad and tomato, chilli and chutney, followed by dessert of Strawberry Gateau/Strawberry and Black Forest Cheesecake.
Cheques should be made payable to “Folkestone Gurkha Memorial Fund” and sent to John Barber at the address below. Payments can be made by BACS- Folkestone Gurkha Memorial Fund; sort code 52-41-42; Account Number 47201290 – please email details (names of each attendee) to John Barber. Due to Security at the Barracks and the need to provide names by 26th May cash/card payments on the day will be too difficult, unless you confirm your attendance by the 25th May.
Yours sincerely,
Dhan Gurung
Chairman, The Gurkha Memorial Fund UK
